After the contribution and sacrifice of numberless people of India , India eventually got freedom on 15 th August, 1947.

Prime Minister of India communicates with citizens of India by giving a speech from Red Fort. Red Fort is an significant monument which was the venue for many events of freedom movement. Prime Minister conveys his message to citizens of India and tells about future plans for the progress of India.

Besides this, flag hoisting ceremony is perform and many cultural programs are prearranged for this day. Flag hoisting ceremony and cultural programs are also held in state capitals and important organizations. In schools also, flag hoisting rite is performed amidst the staff and the students.
