There are many dissimilar ways to lay out a cabinet plan using some of today’s designing software that you will almost never come up with the same layout twice. This is what makes a cabinet maker’s job very interesting. No two people are precisely the same, so their tastes will never be the same. You could probably design a cabinet plan for each one in a set of the same twins which may or may not look anything alike.

There are so many dissimilar ways to draw up a cabinet plan that can be anything from pretty simple to very fancy, it all depends upon your tastes you also need to take into account the sizes of the rooms that you are designing these cabinets for height and width-wise. Do you realize that you can design a cabinet plan in which your cabinets are short height-wise but yet very deep as far as center storage space is concerned? Well, what if I want or need to have very tall or very wide cabinets; can this be done? Yes, you actually can have your tradition cabinets designed and built to any specifications and measurements that you need or want. If you want some fancy scroll work done on the top and bottom; that can be included in the drawing of the cabinet plan so that the cabinet maker knows to include the fancy scroll work at the top and bottom when he in fact builds those cabinets. Any type of design work that you want to have done to the cabinet door and frame can also be included into the design.
Are supply costs and materials included in the cabinet plan?
Yes, most of today’s design software already has forms and template incorporated into them so that all you need to do is fill in the essential information; then the program will calculate your costs and show you that information it will also ask you to list you supplies (i.e. type of wood, hardware, etc) and then list these as well. This way you have a full list to show the customer. If they want anything dissimilar, they can tell you then; before you start building the cabinets!
